About Karen Folwell Designs

Karen Folwell Karen Folwell was born and raised in Boise, Idaho, where she became interested in artistic expression in the Boise schools. This expression initially took the form of oil and porcelain painting, but these days Karen's designs are realized using colored pencil and watercolor. She has recently begun designing a line of handmade greeting cards called K-Notes.

Her subjects range from local scenes, Idaho scenes, flowers, house portraits, and portraits of children - painted in a realistic style. Karen describes herself as a colorist.

Her goal is to help others see the blessedness of everyday things that are past and present through the use of light and color. Her regular participation at the annual Art and Roses art sale in June has gained her new friends as well as faithful regulars who are an encouragement and inspiration to her.
